Society for the Rehabilitation of Persons with Differently Abled

SRPWDA (Society for the Rehabilitation of Persons with Differently Abled) was established on 24th April 2016 and got Registration on 16th February 2017. It is a non-profit, non-commercial voluntary organization. It aims at promoting the quality of life of differently abled person through a holistic multidisciplinary qualitative service-delivery with qualified professionals and personnel. The professional faculties are drawn from different disciplines Clinical Psychology, Special Education, Speech Pathology and Audiology, Physio Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Medical and Psychiatric Social work.

It also offers augmentative interventions to supplement clinical therapies through Dance, Music, Yoga, Hydro therapy etc.

Vision

The persons with differently abled have equal rights to lead a better quality of life. This may be enabled with committed professionalism, accessible environment, equal opportunities, positive attitudes and appropriate, affordable, acceptable in the society.

Our Objectives

• Prevention of disabilities by early detection/early identification.
• Early intervention is provided, to all infants and children with disabilities, developmental disorders and children at-risk of developing disabilities; when the developing brain is most capable of change; and thereby reducing the prevalence and incidence of disabilities.
• Therapeutic and counseling services for children, adolescents, adults & geriatric population with disabilities.
• Support for children with disabilities attending mainstream school.
• Promote inclusion and rehabilitation of individuals with disabilities.
• Promote quality of life and life skills of individuals with disabilities.
• Reduction in severity and impact of disability in children.
• Substantial improvement in functioning level of individuals with disabilities.
• Improving skills needed for active participation and inclusion.
• Improving family coping skills with empowerment.
• Enhanced participation of Parents as Partners in the process of rehabilitation.
• Promote employment and income generation of individuals with disabilities.
• Advocate and network with governmental and non-governmental institutions.
• Ability development and vocational training of specially able children.
• Enhance skills of specially-able children and develop positive attitude towards self-reliance.
• Create community-based rehabilitation for the specially able children.
• Ensure livelihood for the PWDs.
